Project 1 starts

I purchased the fabric and hardware to make our master bedroom drapes. I spent a few hours of my Saturday afternoon at Hancock Fabrics searching for just what I wanted, reading a few sewing books and just looking at patterns for a few things that I might just try and make after this first project. All of their Decorator Fabrics were 50% off and the hardware for the windows were 50% off as well. I received a $20 coupon as well when I was checking out because I signed up for my preferred customer card. I would have spent a lot more money and time in there if I knew exactly what our living room furniture will look like when it arrives into our space in a few months. But for now, I enjoyed my discounts and getting to just look at all of the fun that I have ahead of me. My goal is to get into a smocking class sometime this spring/summer and learn how to smock children's clothing. No, we are not planning on becoming pregnant anytime soon.. but a lot of my friends and family might be.. and I want to learn how! 

But one step at a time... I'm off to start on my drapes!
