Taylor and I are on our way to my vacation from work. I mentioned it a
month or so ago but we are taking a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico until
Monday. I have today (Thursday), Friday and Monday off work. Such a
gift of it's own. This is our little escape before Taylor starts his
busy Summer and Fall of touring. I'm looking forward to one-on-one
time for a few days. I am so thankful to work with a practice that
let's us know just what we mean to them. It's truly a joy to go to
work everyday whether or not I act like it all the time. So that being
said, if you need me.. I'm cruising and enjoying another long weekend
off! Be back Monday with full details and pictures.

Color for Summer
Today I made a trip to the local ULTA store for a one particular item. My nail polish of the summer. I probably spent more time than necessary looking at the rows of nail polish before reaching the news colors that are just out by OPI. My color of choice: OPI on Collins Ave. Collins Ave. in South Beach. I love it. Just the perfect mix of orange and red. I've already painted my toes in preparation for our trip next week.

Quiet Memorial Day Weekend
Taylor is traveling as of yesterday morning and I am off work until Tuesday morning. He'll return home on Monday night. So this means a weekend at home. Alone with Miley. Normally, I would be off to my parents' house but they are currently making their way towards Seattle with my grandparents for a cruise to Alaska until the end of next week.
So I started my weekend at home by going to bed early last night. I woke up this morning wanting to jump in my car and drive over to Panera for a cinnamon crunch bagel with hazelnut cream cheese. I got dressed, grabbed my raincoat and headed out of the door.
Once I got in my car, I realized that it was not going to crank.
Great.
Perfect timing.
It's pouring down rain and my husband is out of town.
His parents live right around the corner from us and were sweet enough to fight the rain and come jump my car off. They followed me to the auto parts store to get the battery tested. Sure enough. Dead. So we replaced my battery in the pouring down rain.
It didn't take long to realize that my car was having some other issues as well. Another trip to see a mechanic to check the sensors and I realize that I'm going to have to take my car to get looked at once Taylor gets home. I did find out that the electrical system of my car is fine and I would still be able to drive it around this weekend and I have a brand new battery that shouldn't be giving me anymore trouble.
I treated myself to a shower, dry clothes and lunch at Chick-Fil-A.
And just so you know, I did go to Panera and get a bagel to eat in the morning.

Red Mac
Last weekend, Taylor and I went to Prattville to shop and eat dinner.
We went to the local Mac & More store to look around. They had the
Speck covers that I've been looking at since I got my MacBook a few
years ago. I decided it was time to break down and get one. So my
MacBook and my iPhone have matching red covers now. I am super excited
about it. It was a great impulse buy!

Mother's Day
Taylor is in California for the weekend with Switchfoot so Miley and I packed the car and we went to Monroeville for the weekend with my mom and step-dad. Just a weekend of resting, napping, reading a great book and just enjoying time with my parents. I was lucky enough to be able to meet the lady that cuts my hair at the salon on Saturday afternoon. $14 to get my hair cut off. And I love it. I'll work on getting a picture posted. We ate wonderful food and enjoyed great company. It was a much needed weekend retreat. Here are a few pictures of Miley's adventures.

After playing ball in the yard on Friday afternoon, Miley decided to climb into the wagon filled with water and cool off. She stayed there for 20 minutes, rolling over and over and loving every minute of it.

Then on Saturday while Mom was working in the yard, she enjoyed swimming in her pool over and over again.

These pictures were taken from my iPhone and the only ones that I've been taking lately have been on my phone. I've got to get better about carrying my little camera with me.
We are headed back to Montgomery for dinner with Taylor's mom and the rest of the Taylor and patiently wait on him to get home late tonight, too.
Happy Mother's Day!

Weekend in Charlotte

suitcase the whole time so Reid took this one of Kelli and I with my
iPhone. After I arrived on Friday night, we went to dinner where this
picture was taken. It was Pike's Soda Shop. The movie "Shallow Hal"
had a scene filmed there. It was great food and an even better
milkshake. We drove through cute and incredible neighborhoods before
getting to their apartment. We went to bed pretty early since we had a
full day planned for Saturday. We woke up early and took a walk on a
nature trail by their apartment, returned and cooked breakfast before
setting out for a full day of shopping. We drove to the outlets an
hour away and hardly found anything. They did have a Pottery Barn
Outlet that I could have bought a lot but I didn't have room to get
any of it home in my carry-on bag. Then back to Charlotte to their
really nice mall for a few hours before meeting Reid for dinner. After
going through so many stores, I left there with one thing. One thing.
It's all I got all day. It's probably not a bad thing though. I talked
myself out of getting a lot of things knowing that I needed to just
save that money. We went to PF Changs for dinner and returned to their
apartment to watch "Bride Wars". Sunday morning, we enjoyed Dunkin'
Donuts before church. But after church, of course there was more
shopping. Kelli and I enjoyed a quick dinner before I caught my flight
back to Montgomery.
It was so much fun to spend time with Kelli and Reid for a weekend.
I'm sad that we don't get to do it more often. I'm excited about the
direction that the Lord is leading them in and I can't wait to see
where they will be in a little over a year.

On my way..
To a girls' weekend with my sister! A few months ago, I found a
special that US Airways was having and decided to book a flight to go
visit my sister. So I'm currently sitting in the Montgomery Airport
waiting on my plane to pull up to the gate. I have an hour long flight
directly to Charlotte then it's time for dinner and a weekend packed
full of plans. Plenty of stores to visit, places to eat and girl time.
I can't wait. I have a pasmina with me to cover my mouth while on the
flight. Although I work for gastro doctors, we are all out of face
masks in our office. My sister figured that they would have some
laying around somewhere but I looked all over the supply room and
patient rooms at work this morning and couldn't find a single one.
Probably because we don't do procedures at the office. Otherwise, I
would really hope that I would be able to get one. My scarf will do
though. No swine flu for this girl. I plan on taking a nap so that I
will be ready to go for a few more hours tonight. Be back with
pictures and plenty of stories.
