Living Room Makeover- Part 2

Here you go! A full look at our living room with the new furniture and drapes! Please excuse the red lamp shade. I wanted this lamp so bad from Target and I knew that I could replace the shade once we had the new furniture in the room. I can't find a shade that is not the color of our furniture anywhere in town. I've looked at Target, Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes. Any other suggestions where I might be able to find something? I'd love a little something with pattern on it like this... but that's not really in the budget right now. So I'm going to try and make something to work that's going to give me that same kind of feel. I need to replace our other lamp shades too, now that they match the furniture color so well. But for now, I'm just dealing with a whole lot of beige and champagne and I'm okay with that. I'm just thankful to be rid of the plaid. I finally feel like after a year and a half in this house, our living room is starting to feel more like "home".

Miley, our beautiful puppy, decided to make an apperence in a few of these pictures. She didn't understand why I wasn't just taking pictures of her like always. 

So there you go. A peek into what I was doing all last week. Laying on my new furniture and planning on what the drapes were going to look like. It took me a lot of time to make them since I paid a little bit more attention to the detail in sewing these than the ones for our master bedroom. I lined the back of these drapes so that they would seem more full once they were hanging up, but also so the color would show up a little better when the sun is coming through the windows during the day. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am about them and the way that they turned out. I know that these pictures aren't super detailed but I wanted you to be able to see the furniture as well. 

Miley even decided to pose for you. She went to the vet on Friday and is currently weighing in at 66.5 lbs. And I was told that she needs to lose a few lbs. So we are on a workout plan, both of us. 

Post tomorrow: the new accessorries that I've added over the weekend and the plans for the rest of the fabric that I now have folded on my desk in our office just waiting on me.
