I finally got the bobbin on my sewing machine fixed last Friday and was able to start on my drapes later that night. One broken needle and one bobbin running out of thread later, the drapes were hung in the bedroom in time for a Sunday morning of sleeping late in our "cave". Taylor and Miley enjoyed sleeping late all week and are thankful that our bedroom now actually fills finished after a year of living in our house. Here are the details:
I had full intentions of making a relaxed rod pocket panels for our room but once the rod was hanging, I realized that I was going to need to use drapery clips. I got two sets of 7 at Target for $5.00 a piece. I think that they turned out great for what we were looking for. It was a super easy project once I got started. I'm looking forward to making the ones for the living room once I know what the new furniture is going to look like.
We never use that door so we decided to just make the panels cover both the door and window.
Here is a close up of the detail on the fabric and the rod. I loved the ends of the rod.. and love them even more because I got it for 70% off. It goes great with the rest of the hardware in our room.
The panels puddle on the floor.
And here's a shot of what the panels have looked like more the majority of the time that they have been hanging up this week.
(I also apologize for the horrible quality of these pictures. My camera was not wanting to adjust to the lighting of the room.)
